It seems that quite a few people (including me and Alper) are having problems with the latest release of Safari for Mac (3.0.4 for Leopard, and 3.0.3 for Tiger) concerning it sporadically forgetting cookies. I had the issue a few times now that I suddenly seemed to be logged out of all my websites. Luckily I got a very nice keychain to get me logged in pretty quickly again, but it is very annoying. I think the bug most be reported to Apple by know as the discussions in the Apple Support page refer to a couple of tickets submitted to Apple already.

Blijkbaar ben ik niet de enige persoon die af en toe al zijn cookies verliest in Safari, aangezien heel wat mensen (inclusief Alper) er ook last van hebben. Het is me nu al een paar keer gebeurt dat ik ineens uitgelogt ben uit al mn sites. Erg vervelend maar blijkbaar ondertussen al vermeld aan Apple. Hopelijk komt er binnenkort een update.

  Sam Sethi’s New Elevator Pitch seems to be a bit different.

Last weekend I went to the first PlugLondon at the Skype headquarters here in London. It was a lot of fun, although I didn’t really participate as I had a really bad headache that day. The idea of PlugLondon is much like a MiniBar (which is boring and nothing like a BarCamp) but more oriented on developers and geeks sharing their APIs, projects, and other brilliant ideas. I liked this much better than a MiniBar as even though Skype and eBay had a talk about their API it was still not a sales pitch. Even Ian Forrester (BBC Backstage) gave a little talk on how to use your WiiMote on Linux, and what else kept him busy.

The food (pizza and coke) was great and the presentations were of high quality, making it a nice event for a Saturday. I think next time I would like to see this happen on a Friday or such, as in the weekend all London public transport seems to be rubbish. Not to mention the amount of slow moving tourists in the subway! Below are the photos and go here for the winning logo design.

Afgelopen weekend was ik naar de eerste PlugLondon, hier in London in het Skype hoofdkantoor. Het was behoorlijk interessant ook al deed ik niet echt mee vanwege een behoorlijke koppijn. Het idee achter PlugLondon is net zoiets als een MiniBar (wat saai is en niks is in vergelijking met een MiniBar (which is boring and nothing like a BarCamp) maar dan gericht op developers en hun bezigheden. Ik vond dit veel leuker dan een MiniBar, omdat zelfs ondanks het feit dat Skype en eBay over hun API spraken het toch niet een verkoop verhaal was. Zelfs Ian Forrester (BBC Backstage) hield een verhaal over wat hem bezig hield, waaronder hoe je een WiiMote aan de gang kan krijgen onder Linux.

Het eten (pizza en frisdrank) was een mooie verrasing en de presentaties waren van erg hoge kwaliteit, wat het een leuke bezigheid maakte voor een zaterdag. In de toekomst mag dit misschien toch wel naar vrijdag verschoven aangezien het openbaar vervoer in London in het weekend belabbert is. Vooral de slome toeristen in de metro maken me gek!
