How to Load Large PDFs in FileMagnet

Posted on August 8th, 2008

FileMagnet is a great little App for the iPhone that allows you to read PDFs and more on your iPhone. I noticed some issues though with large PDFs that caused memory issues and decided to write about my current workaround. I send an email to the guys behind FileMagnet and they said they were working on a proper solution but for now this works.

The trick to load large/memory intensive PDFs into FileMagnet is to use the feature that allows you to upload an entire folder to the iPhone app. Use a tool like PDFLab to split your PDF into separate files for every page, and then upload all those files as one folder. Now you can just read your PDF page per page without any memory issues.

Back to work

Posted on August 8th, 2008

After about 1.5 week with being without a decent workstation and a few days of those having to live on my iPhone alone, it is now time to get back to work. I have been getting up to date on all my RSS items, mail, podcasts and to-reads and tomorrow will be a day of work-work-work.

I also had about 600 photos to get sorted, most from before my Apple trouble, and have been slowly uploading the best to Flickr. Here is some of my today’s submissions.
