Movie Review: Tropic Thunder

I went to see Tropic Thunder on Monday, the new comedy movie by and with Ben Stiller. The movie is about a group of established actors trying to revive their career by making a “Oscar worthy” Vietnam flick, but eventually they end up involved with real rebels without knowing it. The movie is a parody on actors going to so called “Boot Camps” to get into a role and then end up making utter fools of themselves.

Here is the quick international trailer.

After I saw the first trailer I already loved the idea and I must admit that the movie stood its ground. The comedy was funny, the story was very entertaining, and some of the “cameos” were hilarious. Not to sure if this is a movie you need to see in the cinema but it’s definitely a movie you need to see some time just because it’s highly quotable.

I found that the movie had two parts - the first hour or so, was extremely boring. After that, I just couldn’t stop laughing. It’s an enjoyable film, but I’m not sure you really need to see it at all…

  2. Interesting. I actually found the first bit to be very funny, then it had a slow moment, and the end was great.
